Subject: Season's Greetings Italian Version
Dear All,
As with every year about this time, this is
good opportunity to summarize the year gone by and send good wishes to all our
friends.
We decided to do Christmas a little
differently this year, by spending it in Thailand. I had the privilege of having
Cathy as an ideal travel guide as she had lived in Bangkok between 1990 and
1994, and really knows her way around. Cathy has been a leading advocate for
returning to the "Land of Smiles" ever since we met in 1997, and this was a good
year to do something that didn't remind us of our last Christmas with Mum, who
departed this planet last February. It's been a year of psychological adjustment
for me, following the void of bereavement. Lying on a beach in Krabi, Thailand,
surrounded by birds, water and tropical greenery is certainly a very good balm.
Cathy is enjoying her new job with The New
School, as Director of Experiential Learning. She is surrounded by students and
culture, and seems content enough to go to work every morning. Robert on the
other hand still works at home, and is just completing a multi-media project for
New York Jazz pianist David Hazeltine. He has also been getting more involved
with environmental issues, and has joined a coalition for climate justice, based
in the Bronx. He is also a keen member of the Riverdale-Yonkers Society for
Ethical Culture.
We hope you have all had a good year to look
back on, and that you are looking forward to a brand new year ahead, full of
happiness and accomplishments.
Best wishes and harmony to all!
